How to avoid backache

Backache is the most common problem found in maximum number of people in today’s time. The main reason of back pain is due to weakness in the muscles of back or abdomen or both or bad posture. However there are a lot of things which can be done to avoid backache, they are-

Maintain weight
A person should always try and maintain weight as people with excessive weight always suffer from the problem of backache. People who are overweight should reduce excess weight to overcome the problem of backache.

Make right moves
Always try and bend using your leg muscles and not arms and back. As using back while bending can cause severe backache problem.

Sleep right
Try and sleep on your back by using firm mattresses. Soft mattresses if used can lead to backache. Sleeping arrangements should be taken good care as a person spends 30% of his/her life sleeping.

Good posture
A person should always try and sit straight with minimum pressure on lower back to avoid back pain.

Take a break
Try not to sit in the same place for more than 30 minutes at a stretch, try and move around for 2 minutes after every short period to avoid back pain.

Exercise
Do the exercises which help in strengthen the back muscle and also making it flexible. Beginners can always make use of weight lifting belt to avoid stress on their back. Thus, exercising is the best way to avoid back pain.

Practice relaxation techniques
Practice relaxation techniques by simple stretching your upper and lower back for 5-10 seconds and then slowly releasing to avoid backache problems.

Avoid long drives
Try and avoid long drives as they always lead to back pain. If urgent then use lumbar support pillow which will help in overcoming the stress on the back.

Pain and exertion
Backache occurs both due to pain and exertion. Try to identify between the both as mild exercises can always help in overcoming pain but not exertion.

Yoga
Yoga is considered to be the best way to avoid back pain as it can be done by anyone with no feeling of stress and tiredness.

Back is the most important part of the body which controls the whole body posture. Thus, everyone should take proper care of their back and should avoid all that can lead to backache as doing not so can be very dangerous afterwards.
