AdSense Newbie Newsletter: Get Started

Dear Publisher,

Thanks for joining the Google AdSense program!
To get started with AdSense, you'll need to access your account and create the ad code for your pages. To help you with this process, we've provided a wizard in your account to give you step-by-step instructions.
checklist
To access this wizard, sign in to your account at www.google.com/adsense using the login and password you created with your application. If you're having difficulty signing in, please visit our troubleshooter.

  1. How to create your ad code
  2. How to paste it into your website
  3. All the resources you need to know about

1. Use our code generation wizard to create your ad code

To get started , click the 'AdSense Setup' tab in your account, where you'll be able to customize the ad unit you want for your site. Here are some tips for using the wizard and for getting off to a great start:
  • Choose the right ad type: We offer several options for different types of web platforms. If you're not sure where to start, we recommend getting set up with AdSense for Content, our most popular implementation.

  • Choose formats and colors for your ads that fit your website layout : Bigger ad formats like the 300 x 250 Medium Rectangle tend to perform better, as do colors that match your site.

2. Paste the ad code into your pages to show ads

Once you've created your ad, we'll provide you with a snippet of ad code. To start showing ads on your site, copy the ad code and paste it into the HTML source code of your site.

Our Code Implementation Guide will provide you with all the details you need to complete this process and begin displaying ads. If you're using a content management system (CMS) like Blogger or WordPress, we've also created a Help Center entry with more specific instructions.
Please remember that ad units can only be placed on pages that comply with our Program Policies. These policies are in place to ensure effectiveness for both advertisers and publishers, and we encourage you to review them frequently. You can find more information about how to keep your site and traffic in compliance in our Help Center.

3. Find the information you need in our online resources

  • Newbie Central is a dedicated section on our Help Center made for new publishers like you. It'll help you find answers to your questions, useful tips, as well as guides and demos.
  • Make sure to update your email preferences, so you can receive targeted performance tips, product updates, and invitations to events from us.

Welcome to Google AdSense - we look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

P.S.: Our next emails will include tips on how to make the most of the program. To make sure they're relevant to you, we'll send them to you as soon as you've started showing AdSense on your pages.
